Kinda....
I've got my bikes hanging against the garage wall (hanging by the front wheel).
I haven't used some of them for a while, and just had a quick look at the full suss to see that 4 of the spokes on the front wheel were loose - having snapped at the nipple, rather than the spoke itself!
Can't figure out why this would happen? Fair enough it's under a 'long term stress' by hanging there, but it's not like it shouldn't be able to deal with it? Oh well!
At least it's just 4 new nipples to rethread back on!
weird!

Replace all alloy nipples with brass...problem won't reoccur.
I would never build another wheel with alloy nipples, a well known wheel builder advised me not to build a wheel with alloy nipples, i didn't listen as i thought having colored nipples (on my wheel) would be cool. it was cool until they kept breaking.
Ride in Scotland on roads or gritted areas and the salt turns alloy nipples to cheese very very quickly... brass is the way to go
my lil brother went OTB whilst on a family holiday.. he was four and I was nine.. I was watching over him at the time while my Mum and Nan went into Brighton for the day.. (aaah, the good old days..)
He skidded along a gravelly old concrete road for a few yards on his chest.. removing his nipples as he went..
He didn't stop crying all day the little wuss..
As above - nothing to do with hanging the bike.
Junki I pity your children.
shut up al..
when I was four I'd already fought two world wars.. and been on the game for half my life..
kids today don't know they're born
