Having recently broken my first mtb for the fifth time since buying it, I've decided to upgrade to something lighter and with more personality. Keen to build it rather than buy a complete bike because:
- I'll know more about how it works so can fix it when it breaks.
- Can get high-end kit cheaper by buying second hand from STW classifieds/ebay
- I've been hooked on riding for over a year now and it feels like the logical step to get even more involved.
- Can have fun building it with mates while drinking beer.

I've seen a load of threads on here which detail different components needed but I'm interested in frame choice. 99% of riding is local singletrack, with an occasional trail centre. Really like the look of the Cotic Soda, and the 456 carbon, but wonder what else is worth a look? I'm 6'4'' so keen to get something big enough.

Also, would it be pointless getting a decent frame and sticking the Rock Shox Toras from my broken bike on it? If not, what's a decent fork for UK riding?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
