So what are the differences between the mmmbop and the blue pig?
Whats the average weight built up?

Will there be complete bikes available one day?

I'm already looking at cycle to work possibilities next year...

Mmmbop is about 1.5 - 2lbs lighter, and a bit stiffer I guess, never ridden either. Overall weight of the mmbop will be about 1.5 - 2lbs less than that of a blue pig.

mmmbop is alu, Blue pig steel.

Different 'intentions' in terms of frame design.

Blue Pigs are ACE.

Not ridden the mmmbop

Well go on then, what exactly is the difference?

Blue Pig - psycho nutter HT
Mmmm Bop - as above but aluminium for errr racing (but with the same nutter geometry!)
Ti - errrr same geo again but Ti for those Ti moments

So what is the intention you mentioned of each one?

Cheers

They're bikes for riding, like. You get on and pedal till you get to the top, then hang on and smile a mile wide while you bomb downhill. Riding my blue pig has increased my confidence by miles, I'm riding stuff that had me off and walking a few months ago

Brant, big style :). THe slack head angle really makes the difference, still not completely sold on the big forks idea, maybe I need a softer spring as I only seem to use about 100mm of the 140mm travel on the pikes. bolt through rocks too though

In a maximum of 3 words each please describe your frames

MADE OF STEEL
MADE OF ALUMINIUM
MADE OF TITANIUM

there you go, three words per frame, you can work out which is which, that's about the sum of the difference ๐Ÿ™‚

you see james i'm guessing xc but a 27lb hardtail for racing? does the geo suit it too?

I'm still struggling with it all. i'd prefer crappy marketing speak than no speak. at least with crappy marketing you can sort of get the idea of what the bike is for.

"does the geo suit it too?"
maybe a DH race (though it wouldn't win), perhaps the mega, or I imagine it'd work well at the Kielder/Ae Avalanche type races, but not an XC race

It may have a 3.7lb frame weight but as far as I know its designed around a 130-150mm travel fork with a 67.5 degree (sagged*) head angle, 50-70mm stems and 700mm+ bars

*140mm fork, 40mm sagged (from ragleys site) thats around 66 degrees unsagged

Its a little far from a 71/73deg 100mm 2-3lb XC race HT frame

I'm almost definitely buying an mmbop in the next week or so... I'm hoping that mine with xt, pro2 xm819 build and light parts will weigh around 26 pounds, I'm looking forward to it now as it ticks all the boxes for me...

Got a Bluepig, its a good all rounder, climbs better than previous frames, better for more XC style stuff but a bit of time spent on it now is showing up that it/I dosnt descend on it as well. I prefer high/light front ends with low bb's to pop&roll over stuff, the 'pig feels higher in the bb and lower in the front to no doubt aid cornering. Dosnt have much bmx style snap out of tight slow stuff that I expect the mmbop has being coke can metal an all, does have a mystical 'steel is real feel' and absorbs trail buzz that ali dosnt.
Dont know for ti.
Weight? who cares-mines built pretty heavy with Profile bmx cranks. Weight=strength+big leg muscles.

rusty...best description for me, took me a quite a while until I got used to the lower front , higher bb...I prefer also the high/light front ends to pop&roll over stuff----but otherwise due to this the pig climbs fantastic....
have an 18, with pike coil, magura louise fr, dt swiss 440 hubs, 5.1 rims, hone cranks, thomson post and heavy flats, ......31.7lbs ...
would like to go for the ti.....
really like my pig...but still have an issue with not holding the seatpost properly...

got a blue pig - not weighed it..

suspect it's quite a lot though. currently got pike 426's, dual ply tyres, and other such hefty things on there..but then I do get about half my ascents done by ski lift though.. do rather like it.

The problem is that its always more fun to go down stuff than to pedal up in the first place, I'd happily (and might do yet) trade climbing for downhill pop, roll&manual.

Looking for 3" rise bars but there arnt many out there-tempted to chop my 762mm bars down to bring my hands in and push my upper torso up and back a bit.

but still have an issue with not holding the seatpost properly...

my mate has an 18" thats had loads of different seat clamps on and none have fixed the slipping issue. Need to have a measureing session on it and see whats happening. My 20" has been fine with an SDG&Ragley clamp.

Brant;

it's also a 27.2mm Sdg I-beam same as mine, my mates had 30mm Hope bolt clamp-snapped the bolt trying to clamp it enough then used it with a bodged QR, tried an 28.6mm hope-still no joy, currently got one of the bolt brand X clamps, grease/copperslip removed from post&frame, still slips. I'll have a chat with my mate and see what he says, it came from cyclery in Uppermill.

Oh, maybe worth mentioning, all 3 ragleys are available at the bikeradar demo days and after quite a lot of random ****ing about, cancelled bookings etc they're now taking advance bookings for them again (all previous bookings were cancelled and the bikes were changed to "on the day booking only"). So, it's dead easy to get a test ride again if you want.

Works well as an Alps hardtail, Guy? Thinking about getting one for big pedally days (Orange Alpine rest of the time!).

Need to hassle Brant again... ๐Ÿ˜‰

found some Fire eye bars on CRC with a nice 77mm rise!!-gonna give em a try I think, allthough I can hear Brant crying into his Yorkshire puddings as I speak with thoughts of a 'Pig being pedalled around looking like something from Easy Rider.

I noticed a sign outside the bluepig today that said in association with mankin holes WWC' (spelling?)

Brant maybe you could name a femme-specific frame after this? ๐Ÿ˜†

Rustynissanprairie, whats you're idea with this high front end malarky?

Im a lanky 6'5" er with long legs, I prefer high front ends even if it is against the general thought that low is best, my previous hardtails have always had long head tubes, big forks&2" rise bars, I tend to ride off the back with a light front end for manual rolling or clean 'bunny' hopping entire rock fields/sections at speed-it comes from years of street&race bmx and big DH bikes.
Cornering was never a problem with my old hardtails, Im a kinda bmx elbows out tucked down corner-er or sometimes stick my foot out and drift it in kinda style which isnt hampered by a high front end.

The trouble is that the new generation of hardtails have lower front ends for better cornering&climbing, my 20" 'pig has a higher BB and lower front end than my previous stuff, so I feel rotated forwards over the front. Its a great bike for 'hard XC'/riding but im not getting the love for DH stuff. I've gone 20mm shorter on the stem to 50mm. 20mm (IIRC) spacers under the stem and 2"rise bars. Im thinking a higher bar will put me back to where I was-ish.
