A few questions about the PX Tempest

I purchased a Planet X tempest recently, to be delivered in December. It’s my first gravel bike so I’m a bit clueless. I bought the cheapest one, but added the carbon wheels Planet X offer.

Can i use this on a turbo trainer? I would assume I need a turbo specific tyre, so maybe I should buy a cheap turbo specific wheel?

Are the stock tyres actually any good for gravelling or should I ask Planet X to swap them out for something else? Typically what pressures would you run  in a gravel bike tyre?

If your turbo trainer takes a 142x12mm bolt through axle there's no reason why it shouldn't

Typically what pressures would you run in a gravel bike tyre?

Don't open that can of worms!

However, we'd need to know your weight, the bikes weight laden/unladen (bike packing) tubeless/tubed,the terrain you intend to ride, tyre width, rim width etc etc

But massive generalization around 35psi rear, 30 front if tubeless (and you need to be) and take a pump and play with pressures to see what works for you

I wouldn’t get PX to swap the tyres. Buy the ones you want and do it yourself, tubelessing at the same time.

I may have invented a useful but horrible new word there.

Yes as long as the trainer can cope with a bolt through axle, Most wheel on trainers can't though. So you'd need a direct drive trainer like the zwift hub.

As above, tyres make quite a big difference so just pick some you like that get good reviews and suit your riding. Typically 35psi in 42mm tyres feels about right to me, but there's a fine line between tyres squirming on grippy tarmac and sliding around off-road so get a pump/guage and play around a bit.
