They do make some nice hubs but do we really need 690 POE?

Be interesting (in a hypothetical way, it's so far out of mortals price range it's not really a question) to see how they hold up in the real world.

I'm not 100% convinced. On a turbo trainer with no side loads I guess a traditional freehub transfers the forces very effectively, I9 are saying that's not the case in the real world where things are flexing.

But their system of only engaging one pawl is causing the hub to flex in order to engage the remainder?

I suppose the calculation is that the hub flexes before the maximum allowable load on a singular pawl is reached, so when you're soft pedaling it's working as normal and when you sprint it flexes.

Clever bit of engineering and design if it works out, more POE reaches a limit, and in designing their way past that limit they've upped it by an order of magnitude!

So in a sense, yes it does need 960 POE, as it needs 6 pawl teeth on 115 ratchet teeth to give it a fine enough pitch to use the flex in the system!
