Hi, looking at these in the Evans et al sales at the minute. Any experienced reviews out there? I've got basic Freeriders at the minute and I'd like something a bit different and better off the bike would be nice.

Thanks

I've had the Trailcross XT since the end of 2021. I find them really comfortable on and off the bike and would happily buy the same again when mine are due for replacement. They're wearing very well so no-where near needing replacing at the moment. They're not waterproof but dry quickly. I live in Sydney so not a concern for me but not sure if they'd be the best in properly cold and wet weather.

Okay. Thanks for the input. They're quite cheap over here at the minute so I might try a pair.

I wear Freeriders and find the Trail cross relatively quite narrow, especially across the knuckle. I also have to go up a whole size as the trail cross are overall much more snug.

I'd read this elsewhere also that they are a narrow fit. Thanks.

I've got the Mid Pro's (and GTX).

I like them. There's D30 ankle protection on the Pro's, but not much toe box protection - definitely a summer boot though. Think I went half a size up in the Pro's and a full size up in the GTX and they fit fine

I got some Trailcross XT last week, really like the fit and they feel very comfy just trying them on (not ridden in them yet).

Had to go up to 10.5 (I'm size 10 in most shoes).

Freerider Pros are excellent if you want something more bike-focused. Sizing about the same.

I was using Trailcross XT for the last ~4years. ย

Really good biking shoe, not waterproof but dries very quickly, works really well with Sealskin shocks. ย Lots of grip and comfortable. Enough flexibility for the odd bit of walking. ย Just a really good all round shoe for XC and trail.ย

I recently switched to Specialized shoes because they were on sale otherwise was going to go for another pair of Trailcross.
