Do cheap-ish tyres exist for a CX bike?

It’s time to change the tyres on my 2014 CAADX. It’s on its original Sammy Slicks and they’ve done the job fine.

I don’t do a lot of miles on it and i’m frankly horrified at the prices I’m seeing for two tyres!

I was hoping to spend maybe £20 a tyre but that’s looking unrealistic! £25?
I just want something relatively good on and off road. most of my riding is fire roads / bridleway and road. No racing, no big sloppy mud rides.

Any recommendations?

I feel your pain, however ... you could get another 10 years riding out of them, would you like to make the bike good to ride over that period?

How about narrow gravel tyres? Seems to come in wire bead more often, especially as an OEM tyre.

Schwable CX pro is the only CX tyre I remember seeing 'cheap'.

Fairly pleased with Vittoria Terreno Dry (folding version) as an inexpensive gravel tyre - usually available on offer if you look around.

off road cc review

Wtb cross boss is a good just-riding-around tyre, discounted at £18 on crc at the mo.

A couple of options in Ribble

https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/components/wheels-tyres/?category_ids=105

Including g one all round £18

But personally I’d pay more and get the tyres I want

Yeah loads more choice if you don't get hung up on CX tyres and go gravel. I had some g one 35s on a caadx. Cx is fairly niche these days so mostly high end as the mass market is now gravel
