Back in September I spent 21 days riding in America and hit up some sweet trails in Colorado, Utah and Arizona

Day 1
-----
I flew out on my own with my bike to Denver from Heathrow , and stayed the first couple of nights in Denver @ Cherry Creek

Day 2
-----
I started out high for my first ride Kennosha Pass to Georgia Pass and back via Jefferson which topped out at 11800 feet It was a fantastic ride, 24 miles of great high altitude singletrack riding

[img] [/img]

More Pictures can be found on this page

Day 3
-----
I headed over to Winterpark and rode some more high altitude trails over there

I wouldnt ride the trails at the bike bike again - apart from a few nice xc trails at the top of the mountain it was all way too DH for me

But the Fraser Valley trails are well worth doing - i ended up riding around 25 miles today with the help of a couple of lift rides

[img] [/img]

I stayed the night at copper mountain ski resort

Day 4
-----
I left Denver and headed over to Vail on the way to Salida , I rode a trail I'd done before which is pretty good - The Lost Lake Loop

The ride has a mix of singletrack and dirt roads - but dirt road is just a quick way to get to the great singletrack and views

[img] [/img]

From vail I drove on over to Salida ready to ride the Monarch Crest Trail

Day 5
-----
Woke up to find it had been raining in the night - I spoke with a friend in Gunnison and he suggested I should head on over there and give the crest a miss , until the weather got better , so I went over there and rode some great trails at hartman Rocks

[img] [/img]

Theres a maze of excellent smooth singletrack mixed up with techy granite outcrops at Hartman rocks, we rode for a couple of hours before it rained - later on that day i returned for more riding as it was so good there.

More Pictures are on this web link

Day 6
-----
I drove up to Crested Butte and rode Trail 401 and the Deer Valley trail, Trail 401 has a long road climb up high but then has miles of great singletarck back down the valley, The Deer valley trail has great singleytrack through aspen tree stands

Riding down 401

Deer Valley Trail

Day 7
-----
Me and my friends from Gunnison Rode one of my favorite rides in Colorado the Monarch Crest trail an awesome 36 mile high alpine trail

Day 8
-----
Id enjoyed the Crest so much that I returned on my own and rode it again !!!!!

[img] [/img]

The ride was excellent and I made good time along the way, I even managed to find time to go and ride at Hartman rocks again

[img] [/img]

Day 9
-----
Today I went back up to Crested Butte and rode Reno - Flag - Bear - Rosebud - Sound of Music - Deadman's Gulch

There were quite a few tough climbs but the singletrack was sublime

Lovely. Our Colorado/Utah riding trip morphed into Colorado/Wyoming/Montana/Idaho/Utah sightseeing trip due to pregnancy. We still had a great time and saw a Grizzy in Yellowstone. Magic.

+1000. Willy waving of the highest order.

Looks like you had a fantastic time though. Unlike all the others here I'm just happy for you, I'm not jealous at all. Nope.

Not even a little bit.

Well maybe a little..

good trip; you got most of the good spots in there - fruita, moab, GJ, Front range, st G, etc.

Try and get a bit of time around Breck/Copper/Fairplay etc next time a la Breck Epic.

I miss Summit County :,(
