gonna be starting at wheelbase, and want to stay where there are good real ale pubs.
was thinking keswick or patterdale/ullswater 1st night, buttermere 2nd night and coniston 3rd night.
now to link it up or any better ideas.

Patterdale to buttermere would be a right old ride mate.

Sounds like a good un tho.

One possible Patterdale to Buttermere route:

www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=16439

You could always come over Sticks Pass rather than take the Coach Road (a fair amount of hike a bike though)...also it can get a bit boggy coming over to Watendlath from Thirlmere.

The Lakeland Loop book By Tim Woodcock is worth a look for the classic route round the lakes. Two day ride really, but two really big days so could easily be spread out a bit more for a more relaxed approach 😉

Just found this

The Langstrath Inn at Stonethwaite is good for a pint.

If you're setting off from Rosthwaite on the second day, you could try something like...

...dropping you out at pub in Wasdale (bit cheeky over Haystacks).
