so having skiied all winter (and not been able to get my hands on some skins for my skis), i've got back on my bikes today (can't be arsed skiing on slush any more). pootle into town on the mtb, and a quick spin up a hill on my road bike.
oh my golly gosh i am unfit! the muscles are still there, but the heart and lungs just aren't in it. think i'll hold off riding with anyone else for a little bit!
assuming i can get out for 2 road and 2 mtb rides per week, how long do you reckon before i can get a resemblance of fitness back? what sort of riding should i be doing to get it back asap? (plenty of long climbs round here...)
i will have been off the bike for 6 months by the time i ride again.
i cant wait.............but i am dreading it too.

should have seen me this morning when my mtb arrived by courier - i was so excited! had a wonder around my village a couple of days ago and have found some tasty looking trails, so i think tomorrow i'll hike up them to see where they start, before mtbing down again. so excited!

You want to try 18 months off (after a bad bike/car interface) the 15 mile commute, that normally takes me 40 minutes took an hour and a quarter, and felt like I was doing Lands End to John O'Groats in a day! ๐ก
