As per title really.

Have a pair of WTB Exposure 700x30 but the rear got slashed by a sharp piece of metal last week and is not fixable. I picked up the WTBs slightly used for a bargain, but new, they're £40 each 😳

Thinking of the Gravelling in 32 flavour, which can be had for £30ish. Or is there anything else I should consider?

30/32. Tan sidewalls. Tubeless. £30ish. Able to cope with rough roads / very mild occasional off road.

Compass / Rene Herse, Stampede Pass?

TBH I've had good luck with Continental's budget tyres and bad luck with road tubeless, so if I was looking to spend as little as possible I'd go with Ultra Sports and stick with tubes (or Schwalbe CX Comp are my off road commuting tyre).

Hutchinson Sector 32 whilst not tan sidewalk seem to be able to cope with reasonable off road including gravel, sand, singletrack, chalk, mild roots and tow paths. Run tubeless.
We did a couple of days packed to overnight riding on back roads and chalk trails at Easter with no problems.

https://www.merlincycles.com/hutchinson-fusion-5-all-season-11-storm-tlr-folding-road-tyre-700c-116846.html are supposed to be a decent ride and very durable for road tubeless.

https://www.merlincycles.com/hutchinson-fusion-5-performance-11-storm-tlr-folding-road-tyre-700c-116837.html are supposed to be slightly better performing but not quite as durable.

https://www.merlincycles.com/hutchinson-fusion-5-galactik-11-storm-tlr-folding-road-tyre-700c-116832.html are supposed to be very good, but they don't last long by all accounts.

You need to make your mind up, you have linked the same tyre 3 times with a different opinion each time 🙂

Sectors 32s are good mixed/broken road tyres, but are no good for proper off road.

Thanks, but I don't really need a pair as I have one WTB still with plenty of life.

but are no good for proper off road.

No, but I don't need 'proper' off-road; my gravel wheelset has WTB Resolutes which cover that well enough.

I like tan. And the remaining tyre on the bike is tan.

No opinions of the Gravelkings?

I have gravelkings. 32mm, tan walls, set up tubeless. ~1000km covered and one puncture, which sealed without needing to be topped up with air or sealant. Bit of wear on the back, but some life left.

To ride they're fast enough on road, comfy, grippy on road or hardpack. Not much cop on proper off road, but they're not huge so wouldn't expect them to be.
