Please recommend me a budget friendly 9yo kid proof GPS watch that will simply work with Strava (easy 1 button export if not running the Strava app)

Garmin 35? or 25.

One button to say which sport (run / cycle etc). Second button to stop & start. Uploads (usually) automatically via Garmin app to Strava.

They'll need a phone to connect watch to for the sync. You'll also need to lie about their age as Strava has a minimum 13 years age limit.
Otherwise, Garmin and Lezyne do watches.

Amazfit Bip or Pace.

Samsung Gearfit

Huawei & Honor also do GPS smart watches/fitness bands.

Polar.

1 button to activate GPS (then up/down buttons to pick a sport if more than 1)

1 button press to start recording and say Go once signal is 100%

1 button hold for 3 seconds to stop recording and automatically upload via phone

9 year old? Give them something bafflingly complicated, and they'll have it figured out in minutes.
