Giving 2x9 a go, last couple of jobs left including fitting the chain.
Good job I'm not afraid to ask stupid questions - what length? Big to big + 2 links doesn't 'feel' right as it'll be on that ring a fair bit and could be running across the whole block.

It might not feel it, but its fine, add an extra link if you fancy though.
Have you upped to a 36t ring at the front? I would bare in mind, you might want to up the ring from 32t to 36t at some stage.
Yup 36 ring up front, still using the old long cage RD though, hence why I wondered if chain would be a bit short.
what ratio are you running?
I have a 11-34 block - i am thinking 24/36 up front?
I've got 24/36 and 11-34 and it seems spot on for mtbing.
You can see that the chain is fairly taut even with 36 and middle of the block here - Big/Big +2 is fine.

I did big-big with the suspension fully compressed, which needed 2-3 more links than simply big/big. That is running a 42/28 and a 11-34 at the back (2x9).
