[Closed] 29er Bontrager Jones ACX onto TLR Bontrager Rhythm rims, where am I going wrong?

OK, so here's the situation.

I have just spent a fruitless hour trying to fit a normal Bonty Jones ACX tyre and associated inner tube onto a TLR rim. No success at all as the tyre simply won't draw onto the rim.

Never having grappled with a TLR rim, do I need to remove the rim strip first before trying to use it with a tubed tyre - I am hoping that this is the case but didn't want to strip the rim strip out before checking.

Also, if I do need to remove the rim strip, how is that achieved?

(Yes, I know i should probably be using TLR tyres and sealant but I'm not that committed to 29ering yet and just wanted to do a quick trial).
