As per title, I've been tasked with finding a plus bike for someone else, preferably in steel and preferably at or close to the £1k c2w limit. They really like the 45650b (but not plus) and the Sonder Transmitter (but not steel). Anybody got any suggestions? Alternative solution any one tried running 26+ tyres in a 650b frame, thinking that may be an option on the 45650b?

Rear clearance was very close on my 45650b with fairly narrow rims and 2.4 tyres. Not much room for anything plus I'd reckon

Surly KM for B plus, if they ever get over here.

Or Surly Instigator for 26 plus, which I can highly recommend.

+1 on the pine mountain suggestion. My c2w pm turned up yesterday and it's lovely. £750 on the scheme before the tax benefit.

All good options but all a fair bit over budget with a suspension fork apart from the pine mountain which is looking like a strong contender!

I built a Tarn from a 2016 frameset - love it.

Same frame/fork on this http://www.sprocketscycles.com/genesis-tarn-10#.WKP4YRicaRs.

If you're East Anglia bound, then you're welcome to have a go on mine. Mine is a simple Pine Mountain so no sus fork and only 10 speed. The PM1 has a Secktor and 11 speed NX, the Pine Mountain 2 has a better fork and gears but thats crazy money for what it is.

The only issue if you do want to fit a sus fork at some point is that it's boost, which means you'll be looking at the dearer end of the spectrum - I don't think you can just stick a 29er Reba on, has to be 110 spacing.
