.. Germany or France.

I know they are not available in the UK and have looked on-line at some of the German and French site, but I can't find them anywhere.

Anybody had any joy in tracking them down??

Thanks

Oooo, I didn't know that. Do you know if they will be available at all Specialized stockists or just the Concept Stores?

If you can't wait, I got mine from here. Came in a week I think and a couple of quid less than they'll be if they show up in the UK.

Nice one, thanks for the link FH.

I can hang on until next month and beyond probably, I was just lining one up for a replacement.

They'll be available at any Specialized dealer that chooses to stock them (or any of them could order them in)

Any Specialized dealer should be able to order you one. Bike Scene (North East) ordered me a 26" Ground Control Grid recently.

This is good news, I found the control too flimsy, couldn't get a grid, ended up with a wtb vigilante.......

A lot of tyre that!

Cheers, will get one ordered, find my wtb vigilante a bit overkill, but it was all I could get at the time!

How does the slaughter compare to the butcher?

Not used the Slaughter myself but a mate raves about them.

I'm dying to try the Butcher and Slaughter on my DH bike. 90 quid is a stretch for an experiment though. Can't find any on the usual German sites.

I didn't think they would be a great deal, if any cheaper from Germany or France because of the way Spesh price

I think the Captain I currently have on the back is goosed and the Slaughter looks just the job to replace it.

Great news, the Butcher is my favourite front tyre and the Grid I got from Germany is just better.

Slaughter looks good as well, though not sure I fancy one for the coming winter!

For DH, a slaughter (as a rear tyre only!) would be ok for hardpack in the dry. As soon as it rains, they are a bit of a liability. On my Trance (I also have a dh bike) I rode with one on the back at bringewood a couple of weeks back, it coped ok, but given the loam/mud a purgatory or butcher would have been more sensible!

Just changed out my Butcher/Slaughter combo for a Butcher/Butcher combo for the Autumn/Winter.

The Slaughter is a great tire, allthough things have started to get interesting now the wetter weather is here!

Ridden everything from trail centres to DH tracks(Wharncliffe) to natural stuff.

It's held up well, rolls fast with good traction - can get a little drifty in loose stuff, but its easy to predict (& catch!)

If your riding hard definately go for grid versions, the control sidewalls a little flexy for low pressures when running tubeless.
