Good evening
Earlier today I asked on this forum about a 24 inch wheel MTB but having been down to Halfords for a size check we have discovered that my daughter needs a 26 inch wheel bike instead.
I am looking to spent up to £450ish and would really appreciate any recommendations in this price range.
Many thanks......much appreciated.

looking at the prices of 26inch stuff on eBay have you considered second hand?

pairs of hopes are usually around 150ish and if you want to go close to your budget

If you decide on the second hand route - a friend of mine has decided to move on her small custom Kona hardtail.

Decent build on it - Hope hubs, Mavic rims, Fox 32's. Can get more info and pics if you like?

One catch though - it's purple 🙄

What is its use - how and where will she ride?

That bike will work well on jump park - but I think will be pig out on the trails. No gears, cannot put saddle up, no front brake, dry dirt jump tyres (more like slicks), heavy (cro-mo and steel axles etc).

Summary: if all she does is 6' jumps at the park then go ahead. For all other trails you may as well stick with the old BMX.

I've virtually decided on the Whyte 403. Slightly more than I wanted to pay but I think its worth the extra money.

Just wondering if this is the best 26" Kids bike at this price and that Im making the right decision over the Voodoo Nzumbi???
Thank you all for your help and advice...much appreciated

She can have my hornet frame for the price of postage (or if you're in Wales you can collect for free)...it's Alu, 17 inches, 26 or 650b, black, no damage....just moved back to steel that's all.
