it all sounds very far in KM, less in proper miles

i need to do 680 miles by thursday to beat least years total by 1 mile. I'm blaming the fat bike, I'm probably just as fit as last year but because of the weight/resistance training nature of the fatty i've done it over a shorter distance.

really disappointed 😕

I don't bother with electronic gizmos to measure my rides, but have just been through my diary and I managed 102 days of riding off road this year (more days if I include riding the road bike when commuting on work day but that's 30 miles of tarmac so doesn't count as fun). Some of those days were a quick hour spin around FOD while others were 10 hours of descending in the Alps.

Alas Santa didn't buy me a computer whatzit to go on my bike.

Disapointing not averaging 2 a week there but can maybe squeeze 2 or 3 out before the first.... not including running though.

I rode my 10,000th km on the way back from work on Christmas Eve. All but 540 of those have been on an mtb.

Somewhere upwards of 200,000m climbing but not sure due to a change in recording methods at Easter.

Commuting 5 days a week off road is great 🙂

All I've recorded is total miles per month.
All on MTB with routes mainly off road though inevitably some of it was on tarmac to get to trails or connecting trails.

Jan - 64 (plus 45 in Lanzerote)
Feb - 104
Mar - 191
Apr - 240
May - 166
Jun - 354
July - 272
Aug - 391
Sep - 352
Oct - 251
Nov - 168
Dec - 182

Total - 2780 miles

Mainly in the South Pennines with odd trips to Peaks/Lakes/Dales/Trail Centres/Other places

Not had a great year, last time out on the bike was 1st Nov due to a variety of factors including moving house / wife's illness / rubbish weather. Fingers crossed that 2016's going to be a good 'un 🙂

I've no idea on the stats; I just rode my bike loads.

See you all in Banff.

Just over 2900 km and 60,000m ascent. All MTB, no commutes or road-only rides.

Pleased with it, as the first half of the year was awful with bad asthma/chest infection meaning I was baling out of rides left, right and centre. Got it under control mid-year, starting losing weight and met all my modest yearly targets with a week or so to spare.

I'm currently sat at 6019.2 miles (9630.7km) but I have a commute of around 22 miles to get home later. So I've hit my target of an average of 500 miles a month.

I've done that lot in 337 hours, that's a shade over a fortnight of riding non-stop.

8,600km
443 hours (!)
100,969m elevation (got into outer space!)
428 rides (a lot of commutes, but a lot of fun MTB and CX rides with friends too)

Aim for next year is to do a bit more "fun" riding and a bit less commuting/Strava climbing challenges (I got suckered into doing all 12 this year, which was a nice challenge but led to a few unexciting rides to reach the monthly targets).

Bit of everything in those rides. Road, mtb and commute. Slightly less than last year although in my defence for the first two months of the year consisted of a lot of turbo work in the kitchen 😐

My goal was to ride more miles than last year. Unfortunately I broke my collarbone at the beginning of September pretty badly so I'm only able to get back on the bike from tomorrow. I'd given up on the goal in view of this.

Having just looked at where I stand. I'm only just 150 miles short!

Target was just over 4,100 miles

Slow start this year due to injury, and a big commuting gap, too. So pretty happy with that, really. Oh, majority on road bike, with bits of MTB thrown in at various points.

Might still get out for an hour today, but this is the current tally...

Distance - 5,269.4 km
Time - 334h 22m
Elev Gain - 117,927 m
Rides - 190

Illness robbed me of the best part of a month, annoyingly.

Compares well to 2014 though...

Distance - 4,718.7 km
Time - 261h 52m
Elev Gain - 86,038 m
Rides - 135

Altitude gain is my primary target, so that's a 37% increase year-on-year - which I've just calculated now and I'm quite pleased about.

I've been doing the 500 miles per month challenge which I managed to complete. November and December were a real challenge with all the lovely weather we've been having and really tested my resolve. But August was the hardest month as I was on holidays for the first 2 weeks.

My stats are below in miles:-

Dec 2015....551.96
Nov 2015....515.64
Oct 2015....530.58
Sep 2015....704.34
Aug 2015....503.15
Jul 2015....776.86
Jun 2015....661.96
May 2015....804.23
Apr 2015....541.1
Mar 2015....537.89
Feb 2015....569.96
Jan 2015....622.49
Summary....7320.17

I don't record my commutes but for other rides, 4281 miles / 6889 km.
338,000ft / 103,000m climbing which included 1 Everesting.
11 imperial centuries.

If I add in commutes as well it's about 3000 miles extra.

9800 km in nine months (missed three months due to the accident). Still averaged 200 km/week. Almost all road. Half of this was ridden fixed.

I bought a bike in October after several years off ... but I'm chuffed to bobbins with it.

I don't have stats for the year, as I had major surgery on my spine in Sept 2014 and didn't get the go-ahead to get back on my MTB til end of April. Since then I've been building up some fitness, and done about 1000 miles on my MTB, plus a skills course and another 1200 miles on my road bike. Not a match for what's been listed on this thread but I'm reasonably happy. Something to improve on for next year.
