Buy cheap, buy twice... 😆
I ordered a 2014 Meta 4X 26" (bright pink!) frame last week as it was reduced to 599 Euro (about £500) and it's vaguely the same shape as the Cotic Flare (which I really wanted but couldn't justify the price).
The frame landed today, thanks for the quick post Mr C., and it's not the frame I [i]ordered[/i] (but it might the right shape...)
They've sent me a yellow 2014 Meta AM (which was sold as 650B) in small (possibly female-specific as well, I'm not sure) with a Meta SL rocker fitted. I'm suspecting that they may not have had any pink 4X 26" frames left and built a 'faux X' (see what I did there?) from bits that made up a frame that's the basically the same shape as a 4X but stickered up differently. I've geeked on and looked at the techbooks online and it looks to be about right but it's not [i]right[/i] right. Meh.
To be fair to Commie they haven't had a chance to email me back so there are no flaming torches and/or pitchforks [i]just[/i] yet, although I've opened a PP dispute which should hurry things along.
That sucks, they should have told you in advance of shipping I think so you could agree or change your mind.
It's pants, isn't it? Dunno what to do now. I'd like to send it back and get a pink one in its place cos I still want the frame, I just don't want the one I've been sent. I was all excited about building it up with new black bits. Sigh. First world problems.
Matey-boy has sent a message back through paypal, but nowt from their CS email (yet). They don't have any 2014 4Xs in stock so will sort the refund when the frame arrives back there.
FFS. Were they hoping I wouldn't realise that it was a totally different frame? And why not just 'fess up and say that they were out of stock rather than send the wrong stuff out? 😆
Cotic will be getting an order for a Flare soon, hopefully anyway, if Commie don't piss me about taking ages to send the refund.
Unfortunately this seems to be the way they work with the bargain section.
I have ordered a few things from them, but have never received what I asked for, with the frame I got this years model, so was a result, but have also ordered shirts in large to get sent a hoodie in XXL? They did sort it out in the end sort of, but I would probably not buy anything in the sale section again.
CS will call and they speak good English, so shouldn't be a problem, just disappointing.
Try again in a week or so when the person who was wrongly sent your frame has returned it?
Nah, I'll be going elsewhere I think.
In other news they've replied to my email and sent a return label so I can take it to the post office tomorrow.
I still can't get my head round the fact that when I asked if the frame was in stock (as it had disappeared from the website the following day- cue alarm bells) they replied with a 'yes'. More incredulity than anger really 😆
