Time for a new bike and I'm seriously tempted by the Anthem X2

I'm going to sort out a test ride but I was just wondering what people thought of there's.....are they as good as the reviews suggest they are?

Blisteringly quick, and quite long, I'm 6ft and wouldn't dare go above a medium.

I've got an X3 and am really pleased with it. Quick uphill and downhill.

The bike "disappears" beneath you, ie becomes unnoticeable. Handling is xc racer style - ie on the twitchy side, but fun and energetic. Can be steered with your butt - ie weight transfer with @rse, elbows, shoulders etc will roll it into a turn without much / any conscious input at the bars.

I've got no problem with the sizing. I'm 6'3" and running a large (20"). Feels short compared to my HT - but that is a 21" old skool race HT.

Particularly chuffed with the spec and value of the X3. I've done about 500 miles and everything is bedding in nicely. Swapped tyres out for something a bit more seasonal - will save the Michelins for summer

X3 looks the best value at £1750.SLX.XT drivetrain,Elixir brakes and prefer the black colour scheme to the blue of the X2.
I`d spend the change on a wheel upgrade.

Built one out of a 2010 Anthem X frame and I have nothing but praise for it. I am probably becoming monotonous but it is a very quick and very versatile bike. Has helped me feel more comfortable and confident on all sorts of places where with the GT and the Boardman I had before it I wouldn't even dare.

There is no pedal bob and it feels like it has more travel than its 4" would suggest. If you really want to push it, it is right at home with a 120mm fork up front anyway. To me it felt as efficient as a hardtail with a lot more control and comfort.

I have a large X1 and am 185cm. Bike is great but it is long and I've got to pop a shorter stem on it. Anthems are great.
