MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
Washed out today on an exceptionally wet descent and managed to snap the body of my left shifter.
I know there are plenty of 1x or singlespeed brake levers on the market but if I want same brake feel as the front brake and same general ergonomics, I feel I should stick with Shimano.
CUES looks to be the safe bet, descriptions are a bit vague online but appears to be SLR/ servo-wave and no shifter gubbins.
Does anyone tun CUES and care to comment? ESSA appears similar but I don't think has same SLR/servo-wave features.

Depending on the age of the 105 would it be worth doing the pair? We found getting replacement hood covers for older 105 stuff really hard recently (10 speed era). If it's 1x I guess it might be a fair bit newer?
Unmatched ergonomics on the bars would fry my brain. 😂
No not new, bike started life as 2x but I use it as my CX bike now so switched to 1x. I just clamp the loose cable against the bars to stop it flapping around.

100%! Although since it's a total frankenbike anyway I am tempted by mis-matched aesthetics, I can get a silver CUES shifter slightly cheaper than a black one.
I'm even tempted by the ESSA shifter just to have ESSA written on it, it's a sort of approximation of my surname... 😎
I’ve run 1x10 and 1x11 Gevenalle when it was my cross bike. Now it’s a posh Gravel steed it runs 1x11 eTap Red electronic. I’d be happy to sell the set for not a lot. The shifter location takes a little getting used to. The LHS brake lever matches but has no shifting mechanism. It has CX cool too. Mine are road pull for cantis and mini V’s. In hindsight I wish I’d bought the V pull version.
