A replacement frame means I'm going 1x. I'v got a 3x SLX chainset so was looking at getting a suitable 30 or 32 tooth chainring to run on it. I assume I just need something with the right BCD?

And maybe some shorter bolts?

I run a single chainring on the middle position of an old Deore crankset (4 bolt 104bcd, equal rather than asymmetric spacing, if you get me). Found chainline worked best spaced in by 2mm, thus stick with original bolts. No spacers, get shorter bolts.

I did it with a triple xt chainset, worked fine

1x on an SLX chainset has worked for me for ages. Original bolts and 30t 104 BCD ring in the middle ring position
