anyone know where i can get a 140mm airshaft for a 27.5 pike in the UK?
Also how easy is it to chnage
Cheers
Oli
They're relatively easy to shorten if you're already on the long side. Got mine done a couple of weeks ago by Bad Ass Bikes...
Piece of cake to change them. Guide on the Pike Manual on Sram website. I got my 140 air spring from Germany, cost about £25. I'll see if I can find the site again.
I bought a 130mm just after Christmas and couldn't find them anywhere but the states, so that's where I got it from.
I cut 10mm off my 15 shaft with a hacksaw and filed it carefully to the same shape. There is a thread about shortening them somewhere on mtbr. Machine shops or Loco will do it properly for you, but the cost might be around the same as a new air spring.
You tryrd tftuned?
Worth bearing in mind a hacksaw to the air shaft will void the warranty, if it still has one.
LBS order part through Fisher and give it to you to fit?
Got one off Amazon recently for my Solo
Yes we hold them in stock, easy change if you can do a lower service and have some circlip pliers you'll be fine, will need some 0w30 oil to refill the lower with though
My LBS got one from Fishers.
Couldn't source a 130mm one though.
I got a 130mm one from here. http://int.cyclecomponents.com/rock-shox-air-shaft-pike-solo-air-140-mm-travel-26-130-mm-travel-27-5-a1.html
