hi

i have ultegra 6600 I think, currently run 50 - 34 and 11-28 cassette

Thinking of fitting an 11-32 cassette. I think the mech is probably short cage. I’m guessing this won’t work and I’ll need another mech - in which case, which one?

Also am I likely to hit any issues with the front mech?

thanks

"11-32 seam cassette with uktegra 10 soeed"

Good mix of typo's and autocorrect there.

Use a 9 SPEED Shimano MTB rear mech and it should all be fine.

What scotroutes said, or a newer 11s mech and j-tec shiftmate.

Or just use your existing mech, the older mechs are more forgiving of big cassettes than the shadow versions so you may get away with it as long as the cage has enough capacity.

I'd give it a go before buying a new mech.

I ran a 11-32 10 speed SLX cassette with a 5600 105 medium cage rear mech, no issued at all. To be fair I even ran it with a 11-36 10 speed cassette on the 3 Peaks and that worked ok too.

My 6600 rear derailleur is super close with a 12-30 cassette. One of those hanger extensions could be a cheap solution.
