Made me think of the guy going down Mount Fuji after a record some years back when the head tube or fork crown give way....

Ouch.

Maybe didn't read it right when skimming but what is the record for? Seems he'd already gone 210km/h in the past.

There's a decent programme on Eric Barone doing the rounds on the Bike Channel at the moment ("The return of Eric Barone"). 50 something and still trying to go >120kph on snow.

IIRC he has been coaching Markus.

The crash where his frame broke looked horrific.

Oh, yeah, that's the one!

I suddenly became much more paranoid about head tubes and forks after I saw that.

I still am!

I figured he would have made some aero mods to the bike?

It's actually >220kph on snow! (222kph is his current record)

That pennyfarthing is very bold - no brakes, and pedals spinning too fast to get back on them...

It appears the record which has just been taken is for a production bike, as Barone still holds the record for a prototype on gravel at 107mph.
