By adding a longer stem and moving the saddle forwards (in order to get more weight directly over the cranks), would it be possible to counteract the 'messing up' of geometry caused by adding longer travel forks to a frame from the olden days originally specced with 80mm forks?
I'm struggling with long term niggling lower back pain and one thought I've had is to get a suspension correct frame to put the geometry change issue out of the question. Would it make a difference?
I used to be happy with the old beast's set-up before the disc trouble, though I've always mithered it was a bit sluggish, set up for singletrack with a short stem etc...
Any thoughts?
20 mm will only make a marginal difference.
It's more about the axle to crown length and I expect 100mm wont make a vast amount of difference.
What frame is it?
I found the very slightly slacker head angle improved my bike.
