Will be OK to use XTR or XT 10 speed front mech on a 9 speed drive train yes?

Yep. Been running a 10 speed XT front mech with 9 speed for...eerm, more than I can remember

The 10 speed FD is probably designed for 24-32-42 but your 9 speed might be 22-32-44 so possibly a slight difference and might not be as easy to get set up smooth but should work.
