I'm trying to do an 11-speed conversion on the cheap.
Anyone know if I can run a 10-speed SRAM X9 mech with 11-speed GX shifter (plus 11 speed chain and cassette)?
My logic being that if the shifter controls the cable release in 11 increments the mech is just a simple spring that moves the jockey wheels. I may have over simplified this!
Anyone tried it?

Thanks hols2, those are useful links, seems like there's 0.2mm difference in cable movement between SRAM 10 and 11 speed shifters, but does this make a noticeable difference to shifting?
I may have to just try it and see.
No, that won't work. X9 mech is 1:1 and the GX shifter is x-actuation (which is 1:3). That link isn't that useful as it measures cable pull, rather than pull ratio, which is what you need to decide if different speed components are compatible.
It's all available on SRAMs site.
