If you’re an eMTB rider who is fed up of people calling your bike a motorbike, then I can’t wait to hear what you think of the new Intense Tazer MX.
When Intense reintroduced the Tazer as an eMTB, they were pretty clear on who their intended market was. At the launch in Barcelona, Intense made it clear that in the U.S the Tazer would be aimed at MotoX riders who fancied a little EEB action.
The standard Tazer eMTB even came with a small built-in MX style rear fender, mismatched moto-style wheels and a bright MX inspired paint job.
But these details obviously weren’t moto enough for some, so Intense has taken a fresh look at the Tazer and created the new Tazer MX Pro and Tazer MX Expert bikes.
Each of the new builds is based around the original Tazer carbon frameset with 155mm of rear-wheel travel and an internal Shimano 504Wh battery, but the build kits have been tweaked to give them a more aggressive feel.
The flagship Tazer MX Pro boasts a 170mm travel Öhlins dual crown fork, Öhlins coil shock, Magura brakes, Renthal cockpit and Maxxis tyres, all brands that also offer MX components. Powering the MX Pro is a Shimano E8000 motor with 70Nm of torque.
If that sounds like a bit too much bike for you then Intense have also put together a Tazer MX Expert option. This bike uses the same frame but the more affordable Shimano E7000 motor. Renthal still supplies the handle bar, but suspension duties are handed over to DVO and brakes are 4 piston Shimano units.

Beautiful machine, I think something like this could well be in my future!
It still looks like a pot bellied pig, and still only a 504wh battery.
Every branch…..every….branch.

Shot yourself in the foot with that username haven’t you.
USA only, that’s a relief, don’t need this scaring the wildlife here in blighty.
