Back in issue 153 in February, Hannah proposed an alternative approach to measuring rides. As part of that, we gave you a set of ride ‘achievements’ to collect in the month ahead. Here’s your next seasonally appropriate set of ride goals. Enjoy! https://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/issue-153-last-word-weights-and-measures

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.

No download for this one, so I’ve imagined it fitting with how the ride went:

Almost get taken out by a kamikaze deer. Tick.

See a dead rabbit on the side of the road that looks like it’s been sacrificed by other rabbits. Tick.

Discover that your bike wants to throw you into a hedge any time you go over 25mph. Tick.

Make it home without riding into a hedge. Tick.
