This is the first episode in a new series from Cut Media looking at Nino Schurter and his life beyond the race tape. Is it building up to a big final year before retirement, or has he got a lot more still to come? Episode 1 is out today.

When it comes to MTB XC racing, Nino Schurter is undoubtedly the Greatest Of All Time. With 10 Elite World Champion Titles, a full set of Olympic Medals and an incredible 35 World Cup Wins, he has been there and won it all. But who is Nino beyond the races, beyond the victories and beyond the records?

A new series, N1NO BEYOND, launching today, goes behind the scenes to uncover the man behind the racer. As Nino enters the pinnacle of his competitive career, this series will take the audience on a journey alongside Nino, discovering the unmatched legacy he has made on the sport of mountain biking. The series will get up close and personal, asking questions and capturing Nino in a way never seen before.

“I have been racing all my life and this sport has given me more than I could have imagined. But the competition, the energy – I’m not done with racing yet. I still have so much to give. Now, I’m ready to show the world what mountain biking really means to me.”

Produced by renowned sports content agency Cut Media, the docu-series will be released in episodes throughout the summer on YouTube. Episode 1 “Never Quit”, released today, follows Nino at the opening round of the 2024 World Cup in Brazil, straight off the back of the 2023 season where he achieved it all by breaking the record for World Cup wins – a record that will stand for generations. Heading into the 2024 season at 38 years old and as reigning overall champion, Episode 1 dares to ask what’s next for the greatest racer of all time, and what will it take to stop him?

“The 2023 season was for sure something I will always remember. Taking my 34th World Cup win in Lenzerheide, on my home mountain, was like a dream, and then finishing the season as overall Champion… it doesn’t get much better than that! But now my focus is on looking forwards, and what the 2024 season can bring,” Nino adds.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
