Very limited edition and yes it’s a bit weird us doing grip tape, but here we are. There’s a few skaters out there – we see you on the forum…
There’s always a lot going on in the bike world, even if everything seems to pass us by so quickly. Here’s a look back at the past few days and what’s been going on.
Crankworx Innsbruck Announces Slopestyle Riders
With a few weeks until Crankworx kicks off in Innsbruck, the event organisers have announced who will be competing in the Slopestyle event. From 16 to 20 June there will be a variety of MTB events taking place in Austria. On 19 June, Slopestyle riders will be hitting the course to compete.
Invited Riders:
- Alex Alanko (SWE)
- Paul Couderc (FRA)
- Erik Fedko (GER)
- Max Fredriksson (SWE)
- Thomas Genon (FRA)
- David Godziek (POL)
- Lucas Huppert (SUI)
- Emil Johansson (SWE)
- Lukas Knopf (GER)
- Tomas Lemoine (FRA)
- David Lieb (USA)
- Garret Mechem (USA)
- Nicholi Rogatkin (USA)
- Torquato Testa (ITA)
- Jakub Vencl (CZE)
Timothé Bringer (FRA)& Tom Isted (GBR) are both on the alternate rider list.
The world will be watching the Swedish phenom who’s won the last three Crankworx Slopestyle contests. And while Emil Johansson has now won every Crankworx Slopestyle contest there is to win, the full roster of competitors was not in Innsbruck to challenge him in 2020, most notably two-time event winner Nicholi Rogatkin. Due to the travel restrictions in place at the time the event was sanctioned as a gold-level event, instead of the usual diamond-level associated with SWC events. A win in Innsbruck this year would bring the Red Bull rider the full pull of diamond-level Crankworx Slopestyle wins.

Leogang Bikepark Celebrates its 20th Birthday
Leogang bikepark opened in 2001 thanks to investments from 33 shareholders. When it first opened there were only four lines. Fast forward today and it’s a staple in the World Cup circuit, has hosted 26 Trix, a World Champs and so much more.
It was a very courageous step at the beginning and everyone was curious to see the outcome. We were in the fortunate situation that we were able to launch the project with the help of 33 shareholders from Leogang. 50% of the investment was made by the mountain railroads. The first years weren’t easy, but from 2006 onwards the number of visitors increased year by year, and especially within the last five years it has become a completely different dimension again.
Kornel Grundner, Managing Director of Leoganger Bergbahnen
On 11-13 June the top DH and XC riders will head to Leogang for the UCI mountain bike world cup. This year a limited number of spectators are also allowed to spectate. For tickets, visit the Out of Bounds Festival site.

Great Britain Cycling Team’s BMX Freestylers have gone from strength to strength since they became part of our World Class Programme, and the progression we have seen from the riders as they take advantage of the support we are able to provide is impressive. This is the first international BMX Freestyle event since November 2019, and it will give the riders a chance to see where they are at against the competitors we can expect to see at the Olympics. The team have had a productive preparation period for this event, spending time in the USA on some world-class BMX ramps with their coach Jamie Bestwick.
