In a change to the original announcement by the UCI, the Fort William round of the 2021 Downhill World Cup will now take place on 22-23 May.
The 22-23 May 2021 is a date change from the original UCI announcement of 12-13 June. The date has moved to May to accommodate other events and enable a more efficient travel plan for the teams following the circuit.
There’ll be added excitement this year – as if more was needed – with Scotsman Reece Wilson racing in the rainbow jersey. Will he take the win at Fort William? Will it be a mud and midge fest, or will the earlier May date catch that weather window of perfection that we so often see in May?
2020 tickets are valid for 2021 although full refunds will be available until 30 November. Ticket holders will be contacted with more details in November. 2021 tickets will go on public sale in early 2021.

May! Hoorah. Always thought they had it too late in the year. By June the rain has set in. Must get booked in somewhere 🙂
Great.
Road trip needed with some riding en route to make a long long weekend of it.
Hopefully less midges than in June.
So when will the tiockets be available for sale? (or am I looking in the wrong place?)
@yoshmi it says early 2021 @captainclunkz fewer midges. Or are you treating them as a mass noun due to the sheer volume of them? 😉
Brilliant! my shifts meant I was working the original dates but now I’m off for it. That’ll be a big smile for the rest of my nightshift 🙂
@Hannah Dobson – B&B is booked – keep my eyes open for the tickets 🙂
Can’t wait, this year’s tickets valid for 2021 and Airbnb is booked, not camping ever again though got absolutely mauled by the midges back in 2018.
