Made famous with the Moxie and currently trending with The Full Moxie, Pipedream Cycles has announced the return of the original Sirius hardtail.
Think Pipedream and a bright pink Moxie is likely the frame you conjure up, but before the Moxie there was the Sirius a steel-framed hardtail designed for multi-purpose trail duties, and for 2020 it’s making a comeback.
Countdown to membership cut off for the next print issue of Singletrack World Magazine
Pipedream says the Sirius is the hardtail for riders who don’t want to feel over biked on their trails, a frame for those who want a Moxie but realise that it’s probably too much for the majority of their riding. With this in mind, the new Sirius is designed with modern XC/trail forks in mind. Built as a 29er, the Sirius will happily accept 100-120mm forks, build it as a 27.5in wheeled trail bike and you can move up to 120-140mm travel. The updated frame is even mullet compatible and comes with sliding dropout for the single-speed crowd.
As we’ve come to expect from a bike with the Pipedream metal head badge the geometry is bang on the money, with a 77.5-degree seat tube angle for a comfortable climbing positing, short seat-tube lengths, a 65-degree head angle and reach figures ranging from 445- 485mm.
Trail riders with an appetite for bikepacking will be happy to learn that there will be a frame option with rack mounts available, and there is also a CrMo unicrown rigid fork option available too.
Pipedream is accepting pre-orders for the new Sirius over on their website now. The frame will be available in Silver Fox, Vintage Green and Starry Night finishes with frame only pricing at £649.00.
Here’s what Pipedream has to say about the all-new Sirius:
Here’s the news you’ve all been waiting for!
The Sirius is back and better than ever. A classic of the Pipedream range, it’s been revamped and brought bang up to date to sit perfectly alongside our other Moxie all-mountain models.
Modern short travel forks have opened up a world of possibilities that we could only dream of a decade ago. The Sirius capitalises on this to create an exceptional all-rounder capable of covering a range of duties from bike packing to trail riding and everything in between.
Optimised for a 100-120mm fork, this blisteringly fast speed machine rewards your efforts with incredible trail agility and efficiency. Where a Moxie may be too much, the Sirius is there to breathe life into your local trails and create a truly engaging and exciting ride.
The Sirius has all you’ve come to expect from a Pipedream with phenomenal tubing, exceptional quality and forward-thinking geometry and sizing.
Available in 3 sizes, to fit riders from 4’11” to 6’2” (1.50-1.88m), and 3 spectacular colours.
Visit our website to pre-order yours now. Pre-ordered frames are due to land in the UK by the end of October.

Always been a fan of the Pipedream bikes, except that they are no good for anyone tall, 420mm seat tube on the largest size???? With a 210mm oneup post I would get 110mm seat post insertion, below the oneup minimum of 150mm!
If the new Sirius was available at the time a couple of months ago, I would have ordered one up. Having owned a couple of Pipedreams and enjoyed riding them for many years , an updated XC more so style bike suits me more than these super slack 150mm hardtails , which have taken the market. I hope it sells well for them.
“77.5-degree seat tube angle”
Does that mean that when you climb it is nearer to 78.5/79-degrees?
Wowzers that is steep.
Stack seems crazy low.
Such a shame Pipedream don’t make larger sizes for larger bloke’s like me.
STA will slacken when climbing.
Also will slacken as saddle is raised because of the curved ST. At what saddle height are they measuring STA?
“STA will slacken when climbing.”
On a HT it won’t….?
I agree about it being a virtual seat angle.
