As we’re sure you’ll agree, Rachel Atherton is an absolute legend of the mountain bike world. Aside from being one of the most successful and winningest racers of all time, Rachel Atherton is also a fantastic ambassador for the sport, and a humble role model for young riders both in the UK and all over the world.
Of course, you already know all of that, but there are many non-riders out there who aren’t necessarily aware of Rachel Atherton’s accolades. Despite having 33 World Cup victories and 5 World Cup Overall titles to her name, the 4x World Champion is still somewhat unknown to the mainstream media. However, that does appear to be changing. There was that article in the Telegraph, titled “Meet Rachel Atherton, the greatest champion you’ve never heard of“, and now BT Sport has shortlisted her for the 2016 Action Woman Award.
The best part? You can vote and make Rachel Atherton the BT Action Woman of 2016!

Tough one. They all deserve to win. Women’s sport seems to be in a much better place right now that male sport.
