We’ve just received word of a spanking new Turner RFX which has been launched today. Oh yeah, baby…

Listen to this: Toray High Modulus carbon fibre. ‘A ride tuned to maximise enduroability’ (what? I’m just quoting). 160mm of travel. Loads of tyre clearance even with 2.4 tyres, dw-Link suspension (natch) and – I like this bit – an ‘all new head tube dimension’.

This means that you can customise the head angle in half-degree increments down to a slack-enough-for-you-sir? 65 degrees. It’s nominally a 66 degree bike, with a 73.5 degree seat tube.

UPDATE – we’ve gotten hold of a little video showing the RFX in action:

From long travel trail bike through to Park slayer, it seems the RFX has been designed with versatility in mind. And personally, we think it looks BOSTIN’.

No boost here, just good old (?) 27.5in wheels with 142×12 axle. It’s optimised for a 160-180mm fork. Turner claims to have optimised things by twiddling about with the carbon layup to yield a snappy, yet controlled, ride.

Here are the numbers:

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
