Everyone waiting to get their enduro on should start getting excited. Starting on Thursday this week the revamped Enduro World Series entry system goes live with Giant Toa Rotorua Enduro places.
If you want to enter Tweedlove, Chain Reaction Cycles Emerald Enduro or Samoens set that alarm clock for Wednesday, January 28th at 5pm. If you’re wanting to enter either of the other European rounds; Zona Zero and Finale you’ll have to wait until Wednesday, February 11th at 5pm CET.
Here’s the Press Release:
In just two months the Enduro World Series will head down under to New Zealand for its first race of 2015 – and anyone who wants to be part of this historic event should make sure they have Thursday in their diary.
Entries for the first ever Giant Toa Rotorua Enduro, part of the inaugural Crankworx Rotorua, open this Thursday, January 22nd at 9am NZDT. The event is expected to sell out in minutes – and with the race offering amateurs the chance to ride alongside names like Jared Graves, Jerome Clementz, Tracy Moseley and Steve Peat, it’s easy to see why.
As demand for places is expected to be so high, a completely new entry system has been put in place this year. Following feedback from riders, entries for events will now open in the host country’s time zone to ensure local riders have the best chance possible of competing in their nearest race. And instead of signing up for each race at once, entries will open on a rolling basis, with events grouped together by geographical location.
Neil Gellatly, Race Manager of the Giant Toa Rotorua Enduro, said: “The significance of this Thursday’s public entry release for round one of the Enduro World Series in Rotorua is huge for all amateur enduro riders in the South Pacific, as well as international privateers.
“It’s the first opportunity down under riders have had to compete in an EWS event so close to home – and for unknown riders from all over the globe the event represents the start of their pursuit for EWS points, recognition and ultimately securing a team ride in 2016. It all begins by grabbing one of the remaining entry places made available to the public when they open at 9am NZ time.”
Entry for the remaining seven rounds will open as follows:
Wednesday, January 28th at 5pm GMT:
· Chain Reaction Cycles Emerald Enduro, County Wicklow, Ireland
· TweedLove Festival, Tweed Valley, Scotland
· Samoens EWS driven by URGE Bike Products, Samoens, France
Wednesday, February 4th at 9am PST:
· Yeti Cycles Big Mountain Enduro presented by Shimano, Crested Butte, USA
· SRAM Canadian Open Enduro presented by Specialized, Crankworx Whistler, Canada
Wednesday, February 11th at 5pm CET:
· Enduro Festival Zona Zero, Ainsa-Sobrabe, Spain
· Superenduro, Finale Ligure, Italy
Chris Ball, Managing Director of the Enduro World Series, said: “For me 2014 represented the most exciting race season to date. But 2015 is shaping up to be even better – with more teams, Fabien and Jerome back from injury and some big name downhillers making appearances, all the ingredients are there to make for an incredible year of racing.”
