Wiggle Mountain Mayhem 2013 – Course Preview

Mountain Mayhem has been a regular June resident at Eastnor Deer Park for 9 years but this year it has moved ever so slightly east to Gatcombe Park – the home of the Princess Royal no less.

Last week we sent Mark down to get a preview of the course along with some other exclusive industry types. The course was not marked out and there’s still lots of preparation work to be done but the main features are…

• 8 Mile lap
• Lots of technical descents and climbs
• Gorgeous park to ride through that you won’t ever get the chance to ride outside of this event.
• Pro teams will probably be lapping in 40 minutes with average teams taking about an hour.

This year’s Mountain Mayhem is on the 15/16th June at Gatcombe Park. Singletrack will be there in force handing out free copies of our official Mountain Mayhem Event Magazine.

Mark has been riding mountain bikes for over 30 years and co-owns Singletrack, where he's been publisher for 25 years. While his official title might be Managing Director, his actual job description is "whatever needs doing" – from wrangling finances and keeping the lights on to occasionally remembering to ride bikes for fun rather than just work. He's seen the sport evolve from rigid forks to whatever madness the industry dreams up next, and he's still not entirely sure what "gravel" is. When he's not buried in spreadsheets or chasing late invoices, he's probably thinking about his next ride.
