It’s been a while coming, but we’ve finally got confirmed dates and (almost) confirmed locations for this year’s UK Gravity Enduro series, sponsored by Fetish Bike Co.
Some of last year’s excellent venues remain including Innerleithen and Eastridge but it’s goodbye to Kielder and Ae. Instead a couple of Welsh rounds have been pencilled in – with one ‘hopefully’ at Coed Y Brenin and the option for the final round either at Dyfi Forest near Machynlleth or back at Afan in South Wales.
Here’s a quicky of dates’n’places…
Round 1: Innerleithen, Peebles-shire. 24th-25th March 2012
Round 2: Coed Y Brenin, Mid Wales. 28th-29th April 2012
Round 3: Hamsterley Forest, County Durham. 26th-27th May 2012
Round 4: Eastridge, Shropshire. 4th-5th August 2012.
Round 5: Dyfi Forest, Machynllyth or Afan Forest, South Wales. 8th-9th September 2012
Last year had some cracking race fun and riding, a great atmosphere and this year looks set to continue the tradition – though hopefully it’ll be drier this year. A number of big names are mooted to be entering at least some of the rounds too and with the whole gravity enduro scene picking up in general it looks to be a good year for racing on the bike you use for riding…
Entries are now live via the British Cycling website and you can head to the Fetish Gravity Enduro Facebook page for news as it happens. Price remains the same at £60 per round, for which you get two full days riding on fully waymarked stages in some of the UK’s best locations.
