Focus Bikes are part of the current breed of German hyper-brands heading to the UK with ranges of bikes that offer excellent value as well as quality specs. However, while Focus were solely distributed by online retailer Wiggle last year, they’re now going to be available via independent bike shops across the country for 2012. Russ takes us through one of the standout models from the 2012 range, the Focus Super Bud 3.0, with 100mm of travel front and rear, full Fox Shox suspension and a Shimano XT group – all for under sixteen hundred quid.

Doesn’t sound like a bad price…
Not taken with the orange hoses/cables but Fox shocks and “full” XT (to me you see when someone says a full groupset I expect hubs, mechs, shifters and brakes) but still for £1600 it’s gotta be a great value machine. Lets see how it rides.
Agreed on the Euro orange cables, but they aren’t dear to change! It has SLX hubs, and rides great, it’s Horst link, so although ‘only’ 100mm its a good 100mm!
