After the massive success of last year’s races, the competitive edge returns to Aston Hill this Sunday 27 March with the Black Run Race.
stoked terribly excited!” said Pete Way, chairman of Aston Hill Bike Park. “This is the first of two races this year, and once again we’re aiming to make them as fun and as memorable as possible. The Black Run is looking really rather superb, we have a great list of fantastic sponsors and prizes, and some of the fastest riders in the south coming over to compete. It’s going to be awfully fun, and we may even have a maypole.”
SRAM (including Truvativ and Rock Shox), Troy Lee Designs, Gusset, Halo, Identiti, Madison.co.uk, Da Kine, Mountain Mania, Beeline Cycles, Duffbag, Swiss and Swallow, Riders Retreat, Haven Distribution and Monster Energy are all generously providing prizes, Simon Slater of www.simonslaterphotography.co.uk is going to have a team of photographers at the race and will be offering same-day prints of racers at the the end of the event, and David Price will be on hand to offer sports treatments for the duration of the day. Neil Cain will also be providing light entertainment in the form of interpretive dance and mime.
If all the excitement makes you hungry then you’re in luck; catering will be provided by the excellent Café in the Woods who will be dishing out lashings of ginger beer and have a simply divine cake stand. As usual Extreme Medics will also be on-hand.
