News just in from Aston Hill’s Secretary in Chief Neil ‘Caino’ Cain.
After the huge success of last year’s races, the competitive edge returns to Aston Hill this Sunday 14 March with the Black Run Race.
“It’s great we can do this,” said Rich Abbott, chairman of Aston Hill Bike Park and primary race organiser. “After the rollercoaster ride Aston Hill has had in recent times, we were completely blown away by the amazing response to the events we hosted in 2009. This is the first of two races this year, and once again we’re hoping to make them both as fun and as memorable as possible. We’ve got a re-tweaked Black Run that’s begging to be ragged, a great list of sponsors and prizes, and some of the finest riders in the south coming over to compete.”
There are excellent prizes to be won from category sponsors Troy Lee Designs, Nema clothing, Dees Cycles of Amersham and Cyclecare of High Wycombe, as well as further goodies from Bell helmets, KaaBoom and Continental. Dave Franciosy will be on hand to photograph all riders and once again is offering downloadable images free of charge to those who want a memento of the day.
In total there are nine categories, including hardtail and female, with each rider getting two timed runs. All race runs will be recorded by Mikrotime, with the faster run counting. The event will carry Category E British Cycling status (as per 2009).

hhmmmmmm tempted and the mud might not be so bad at the moment!
It was good last weekend. Pleasantly moist in places, but grippy pretty much everywhere.
