Jesus christ ladies and gents...
Puts me off ever having a slow bimble on my own, I hurt my ankle a little the other day and started wondering how the hell I was going to get out of the forest.

Flippin eck - this post it still going this morning - some late night posters up there!
Im sitting here wondering if I don't try hard enough when riding. I don't have that many crashes and now I'm thinking is it because I ride like a girl. Am I doing something right or something wrong? Last time I crashed I took the skin off my shin but I have never broken anything. I'm confused.
Looks like some of you have had your value for money out of the NHS !
I've got a big scar on my knee from a crash that stopped me biking for a few weeks but nothing more serious than that. I choose to believe it's because I'm just too awesome to crash rather than because I'm too busy mincing...

Exactly 2 years and 3 days since my bar-end interface. The impact point is badly scarred and the haematoma sits above my navel - it's approx' 6cm x 2.5cm.
Bruising gone completely along with a considerable amount of blubber. I'm almost 4st lighter than when I had the accident.

Becky that looks pretty awful. What brakes do you use? Just so I can avoid their sharp levers!
Kato - just thinking about that makes me feel ill!
Little finger post fall and post op.

IN hospital post rib break followed by haemothorax the first of 2 lires of fluid they drained from my chest.

Cominig together between me, fence post and rusty barbed wire

I think I'm going to go home and take the SPDs off my bike... Maybe it'll be safer if I wear body armour on the commute too. And a full face motorcycle helmet.
Or drive everywhere.
In a tank.
With airbags in it.
OK, full face helmet and armour on every ride for me from now on..
All from the same off... which was on fireroad.

I particularly liked my gravel rash Amish beard. My arm got infected a few days later and I had to go on loads of antibiotics. I've still got some interesting scars. Not as impressive as some on here, mind!
I remember looking at my arm and seeing two jagged bones sticking out
first thing I thought was, wow bones are pink!
Bone has a reasonable blood supply and contains marrow - dead bone and cooked bone is white
Back in the day, i was about 16.
Lucky that this is the worst I've had apart from a cracked rib or two many years ago.
From a stupid slow speed bar-tree interface tumble - caught shin on top tube as I toppled into the trailside foliage. Could never get a decent camera angle to show how big the lump actually was and when it turned black a day or two after this photo the bruising lasted for about 3 weeks.

no pics of my most recent little owie, Dislocated my little finger and knuckle punching a tree. The look of distress on Picto's face as he heard all the crunchy noises as I put all the bleeding wobbly bits back in place more than made up for the pain
nice to see a rocket medical chest drain in the pics as they are almost mythical in the clinical waste sector
