A couple of seconds to record this are worth it I think – it doesn't look like an hour long photoshoot. If I had a horrific injury out on my bike I wan't my mates to take a quick photo for posterity.

The force used to defend itself was far too excessive. The dog was probably only trying to sniff it's arse.

Wow. I have learnt an important lesson about fighting porcupines. 😯

The quills aren't barbed, but they are very, very sharp and are irritating if they stick in you. I'm not sure if they've some sort of coating, but it hurts more than poking yourself with a sharp stick or whatnot.

i would hypothisise, that they are bred for violence traditionally, the nose is designed for OmNomNomNoming on the insides of other dogs, and so that blood doesnt get its eyes. it will also be bred to lock its jaw down and hang on at all costs (which is good in dog fighting i guess)
(so in a way its human fault, for designing such a stupid animal)

They actually look sharp on both ends! How the **** do you pull them out without stabbing yourself, I know my pooch would be dancing round like Taz of Tazmania just trying to retrieve an eye bogey let alone over 1000 quills!
