    Hello
I’ve upgraded my brakes to xt m785 from Avids.
I need to know which adapters I need to get.
My bike’s got a 160 rotor on the rear and 185 rotor on the front.
Looked at Shimano and Madison websites but no luck.

Anyone know the code or part number and where I can get them from quickish?
    Thanks

shimano don’t make a 185mm disc so I doubt they will do an adapter.

For the rear you just need a normal 160mm rear. For the front you will need an Avid 185mm front or a shimano 180mm with some washers.

Andy’s right about the rear I’ve just checked it’s fits.
Fork is Fox 32 RLC with post mount the Avid adapter does not fit it’s not even close.

is the avid mount post mount?

I am guessing you have this? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=13717

It does seem odd that avid use the same bolts that go through the caliper, adapter and into the fork. The Shimano and hope holes do not line up.

Maybe a hope 183mm with some washers would work: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=13728

or a Shimano 180mm with more washers.

Or this thing which is bloody expensive: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=50119

    Thanks for the info
The issue is not with the holes not lining up it’s that there is a gap between the caliper body and the adapter.
The avids use cup and cone spacer washers either side of the caliper for alignment this means the shape of the caliper is different to the xt brakes.
I think this might be what I’m after:

I spotted the XTR one which is inline too. I have a shimano 180mm front somewhere but it’s more like the Hope one I linked to.

You would still need spacers with the XTR mount.
