Our cycling to work scheme is finally kicking off this month and I’m having a look at a new mountain bike. Really like the look of the Whyte 805 and I’m also considering boardman something or other although their 2015 bikes don’t seem to be out yet.

This certainly looks fantastic.

Its a long time since I’ve bought a new mountain bike and no idea if this spec is any good or not.

Anything else I should consider at the £1000 mark?

I have a 2013 805 and I love it, it suits my seemingly odd body shape of short legs + long body.

It is however my only MTB so I can’t compare it really to anything else.

So its pretty stretched out position then xora? That suits me fine really as I’m after more of an XC orientated bike.

Yes, I was finding on a lot of bikes I tested at shop I was hanging too far forward over the bars for my comfort.
