..for a mixture of XC (mostly on the Malverns)and trail centre use? Hope Pro II hubs with WTB speed disk rims or Bontrager Race lites?

    Be more specific?
every one’s idea of XC is not the same.
    everyone is sized different
WTB do 3 different speeddisc rims
bontrager do quite a few Race lite wheelsets.
    …and better in what aspect?

I weigh 85Kg, 6’2″, what I mean by XC is cycling on the local trails which vary from fireroad style tracks to quite rough/rocky sections including small drops. The speedisc wheels are the OE for my Orange 5 – WTB ‘All mountain 20-559/537 ERD’, the Race Lites are disk only with DT swiss hubs. What I wanted to know really was whether anyone knew the diference in the weights of the rim ( and therefore the inertia) and if the DT swiss hubs are as durable as the Hopes

DT hubs are good, possibly hore durable than Hopes but not so easy to get spares for/or customer service if they do need attention.
weights of the WTB rims are on their site, bonty ones prob are too.
    if not try weightweenies.com
unless you land sideways or onto rocks/holes any well built rim can manage drops, rocky sections, again it’s down to how you hit them (and what tyres/pressure you run?)
