    Blue,

Must be more powerful as well as the its vaporized Jemma & Paddy in the photos 😆

Blue, less glare & the middle ground hasnt been "whited out" therefore definition is improved.

    Whats the difference, a filter?

Blue seems to have more definition from the photograps.

Blue looks more 'day for night' – natural

no filters 2 identical liberator lights just different leds .

Black is 6 xpg cool whites running at 1 amp so a theretical lumen count of 2106 lumens

blue is 3 XPG cool whites and 3 XPE natural white at 1 amp
for a theretical lumen count of 1821 lumens .

I'd have thought this is quite dependent on how people have their monitors set up and suchlike, but FWIW I prefer "black", much whiter light to my eyes.

blue less glare, or at leaxt it seems so in the shot.

blue if it wasn't so green, otherwise black

black. the blue has a green cast to the light which doesn't help with separation of trail and foliage (different colour temperature of the bulb or different processing/jpeg settings?)
the human eye will correct this colour shift as long as it's not too severe like a mercury vapour streetlamp.

if they were colour balanced the same i expect the differences to less pronounced.

I prefer black as blue has a definite green cast and black seems to offer more definition..

However, it may be that your camera is doing weird shit when it sees by a different colour light and adjusting the white balance.

I'm sitting at my desk which is illuminated by a white photo lamp (all I could find for a desk lamp!) so this will also affect it.

[EDIT] Basically what he said! ^

might help if you tested them at night instead of in the daylight 😉

    but black.

What does 6 XPEs look like – "what do you mean you haven't made one yet" 😉

    – Would a slight filter 'work' on the XPGs – or is their output too narrow?

Blue (although they are very similar!)

Blue for me, only cos the light is more dispersed with less of a central spot.

Black certainly looks brighter on both counts. Blue seems to have a green tint but I'm viewing on a mobile.

the leds in the blue light are the newest supposed to make color rendition better than the harsh cold white of older leds .

and if I did one with all the natural it looks a bit like a halogen light
so mixed them to try and get the best of both types.

and wanted opinions thanks all I guess it is subjective to the user as the poll result is showing with some liking one over the other but it does seem blue is just in the lead at the moment

Black, the Blue doesn't show up the browns and yellows as well (but then again it could be my monitor).

Black is much better for me. It gives much better definition.

Black – everything has it's own colour.

Blue – everything just looks green.

i guess our own screen settings might be influencing this, but i prefer the 'Black' light.

    Blue @ high power

    Black @ low power

I have 1800 lumens via 6 XPG's, but preferd the original beam from the donor halogens as they were warmer, which maked the contrast er easier?

    Chris,

can't decide but I think it's black high, blue low. Doesn't help that really does it!

Did the bottle of red turn up?
