if it helps then i’d recommend getting down to a ‘fatface’ store, jeans in a casual style that arent covered in logos, weird pockets and stuff… good straight forward, long lasting and the ones i have provide ample massive leg room

Poor value and they last about 6 months on my experience, I’d avoid. If I’m paying £50 plus I buy Howies.

Cheap (£15) Kangol / Wrangler in Sports Direct stores.

Come on, this is meant to be a cycling site, surely one of you has big legs and wears jeans?!

I have exactly the same problem and am a very similar size (14.3st, 32″ waist). I had previously had to buy 34″ and wear belts just to get the leg space.
Diesel used to make some that fitted nicely (snug) but dont make them anymore. I recently picked up a very nice pair of Boss jeans in the sale which fit me nicely and I have a pair of Lee jeans which are even better. Most “comfort” fits are too tight on the legs for me too. I can find out the names of them if it helps?

Twice today I find myself in agreement with TJ. I’m very disturbed.

Never met the bloke but he sounds like a snappy dresser. Certainly sound on suits and denim for the elderly. Needs a haircut though.

Superdry do some more roomy styles. I struggle for jeans with the current trend for skinny. I would look like a toffee apple 😀

Any bloke over the age of 30 should no more consider wearing skinny jeans than a mini-skirt.

Mind you; you’re asking sartorial questions on a forum where grown men consider it acceptable to leave the house dressed in lycra 😀

Proper man jeans, dark indigo, no stupid bells and whistles, high-ish waist so your ass doesnt hang out the back, perfect for those of us 35+.

I’m 6’3 and 32″ waist, biggish-legs, these are the berries.

    snappy dresser?
pfft! i now have a monitor/wacom tablet and keyboard covered in coffee.
im bald as a coot. but all the hair in the world isn’t going to atone for a red cravat.

there is a big difference between skinny hipster jeans and slim fit.
slim fit can be worn by adults without paunches or fat arses.

im talking about those ‘borrowed your sisters jeans’ bum huggers with the low crotch drainpipes compared to a slim tapered fit jean on slim people.

Ok I can grudgingly accept that, but only with small feet!

    Self Portrait? (joke)

Ok so slim fit jeans = Ok.
    Skinny jeans = Not Ok.
Skinny Jeans with elastic ankles = Not Ok.
Skinny jeans with elastic ankles and baggy bottom = Not Ok.
Tights (unles winter riding tight then only on a bike) = Ok.
Flared jeans = So Not Ok.
    Baggy jeans = Ok.

    What about these??

I haven’t read the whole thread, but I just got myself some Uniqlo Selvedge jeans for about £30 and they are wonderful.

Not skinny or baggy, just right – and very high quality material/construction.

Gone up by £5 now but still an absolute steal.

GTDave, I was specifically asking people of a similar build what jeans were available. I can go into a shop that sells only jeans and with the help of their glamerous assistant come out with zip!

    My 3 cents:

    Levis.

Always very friendly in my local shop (Glasgow – 3.5 hours away) and students get 20% discount.

Best jeans ever. Last for years and there’s a cut to suit each occasion.

501 – chilling with my mates
    504 – riding my fixie
    512 – pulling birds

😆 Well, despite being 37, nearing 14st, and being fairly tall, my build I guess is radically different. So don’t but Next jeans, or Levi’s!

@ericemel Howies? I still have some old Howies jeans – they’re great. Newer ones seem to have weird sizing. Or maybe I now have. ah!

If Alpkit are making their epic jeans, they’re nice.

Levis? Used to love ’em. Now I prefer my old Howies. My 32″ waist is long gone though 🙁
