Down the cut. Or buy a big goose.

Go abroad. Most of our swans (not Mute) are from overseas.

Ask the Queen. She wipes her bottom on their necks, the rest will still be perfectly edible.

I think it's illegal to kill a swan as they are property of the Queen. Or something like that...

really ernie, a worring article in the daily mail - imagine thatPosted 1 year ago # -
I've always wondered what it tastes like. I'm not sure if it's legal anywhere !?!?!?!?

Don't think you can get a swan as that's property of the Queen so not for ordinary people.
Get a goose or duck instead or like everyone else buy a chicken instead.

Come to Edinburgh... Heriot Watt uni has a colony of big angry swans, and every year without fail in the first term the rumour goes around that one of the <insert foreign nationality> students has killed one and eaten it. So nobody will ever suspect you.
It always seemed more plausible that the swans were eating students though, they were mental.

there's loads in the Exe at Exeter Quay, they'd never notice one missing. Bring some bread, they'll come over to be fed, then just bundle a tasty-looking one into your shopping bag.

I lived with some lads from hong kong who claimed that swan was their favourite meat of all time.

Then you will be hung, drawn and quartered.

I am sure it is only certain breeds of Swan you cannot burgerise. The rest are fair game. QI told me.

chewkw, be sure not to wear scarlet as it is a royal colour only to be worn by the crown and therefore also treasonous

sorry, been out of the room

the quality of the meat on a swan is better than a goose and the taste of a poached bird is always better although if its on my land its mine so its not really poached

Bassspine speaks good sense.. where the blinkin 'eck did they all come from is what I want to know though.. a mass exodus from some biblical swan farm..?
There was only ever 3 or 4 hanging around when I used to frequent the clubs on the quay some 20 years ago.. the rest were ducks..
I was walking down that way a few weeks back and there were hundreds of the things.. did they emigrate from Dawlish..?
They have black swans in Dawlish incidentally.. which in my opinion have a far superior taste and texture.. especially in a Knorr Chicken Tonight Country French cook-in sauce...

Become a fellow of St John's College in Cambridge - they are the only people outside the royal family who are allowed to eat swans
